THE ALCOVE GALLERY
	Recent works by Carol Ashley are showing at The Alcove Gallery in Atlanta, Georgia. Her works include encaustic paintings using bee's wax and oil paint, as well as a series of 12 paintings and sculptures of the Chinese Zodiac characters.

Carol Ashley's work is described as a mix of traditional and whimsical. Her delightful illustrations are beautifully executed and evince a childlike wonder with an edge. Caro's work as a whole represents a more feminized example of Californian "Lowbrow" art, a movement recently gaining more acceptance and recognition with larger institutions and collectors.
